Outdoor Noise Cancellation

Outdoor noise cancellation is a problem for many people, as exterior noise and sound can be quite irritating, whether in a residential or commercial area. Noise sources can come from neighboring homes, traffic noise, pool pumps, HVAC equipment, and nearby commercial spaces. If the sound cannot be completely isolated within an enclosure, an acoustic barrier can be inserted into the direct path of the sound. This may not completely block the sound but will disrupt the direct path of the sound into the open area. In some soundproofing outdoors cases, you may wish to contact a local acoustical consultant for a site survey.

DIY Outdoor Noise Reduction with AB403 Acoustic Barrier

If there is an existing wooden or chain link fence, exterior grade acoustical Barrier can be installed for outdoor sound dampening. The combination acoustic barriers have a barrier backing and an absorptive face to provide sound absorption as well block sound. These temporary barriers can be custom manufactured to fit the requirements of the specific application. The Outdoor Noise Cancellation barriers are typically manufactured with an exterior grade covering with grommets at the top and bottom for mounting and mating Velcro on the vertical edges to provide a sound seal. They may also be used to surround equipment such as pool pumps or HVAC units.

Outdoor Noise Cancellation

You can mount AB403 sound proof outdoor walls to the existing wood fence every 4m or so as needed starting across top edge and working down. Screw planking tight per illustrations below.

Typical Configuration: Planks / Barrier / Posts + Horizontal Studs / Planks

Looking beyond ground-level noise sources, reflective or absorptive outdoor noise cancellation barrier systems are frequently used in outdoor noise control to quiet rooftop equipment. Chillers, condensers, cooling towers, etc. are all equipment that may be causing unwanted noise levels from nearby rooftops. Rooftop equipment can be less noticeable and achieve noise reduction of acceptable levels with the correct application of an outdoor noise cancellation barrier system.

If your project has strict and high requirements, we suggest you to work with a local acoustic consultant, show them our product details and they could do on-site measurement, make a detailed plan, and even do acoustic engineering installation work.
